Facebook Page apps question?

Ladies and gentlemen of Yahoo Answers, I am beside myself with frustration as I don't know how this works!

I am in the process of setting up a facebook page to showcase my musical services, and I have seen on other pages that you can add apps which appear next to the "about" section. While it's simple enough to add the apps from the app market I was wondering if there is the possibility to add custom apps?

For example, I am a big John Mayer fan and if you have a look at his facebook page you will see he has Shows, Store, Tour Dates, News Letter etc. displayed in this way. How does he do this?

What I am after exactly is separate pages as such, for; Music tuition, Session Musician "profile", CV and a couple of others. Can this be done or am I barking up the wrong tree?
