How do I hide my gender on facebook?

I already did this under "Basic info" just un-check on "Show my gender on timeline" option.

But When I view my profile as public is says

"To see what he shares with friends, send him a friend request."

I want it to say

"To see what they share with friends, send them a friend request."

It says that for other people why not me? What am I getting wrong?

I think because they have'nt put theirs during creating their account.
