Facebook emoticon missing?

In Facebook private messages I have a friend often sending me (hug). I see that as text - is there supposed to be an emoticon for it?

Apparently not. Facebook could only read symbols in order to form emoticon. Example: <3 and it would appear red heart on FB. I think your friend just very used to Skype text. All I know is that skype could transform text into emoticon. Example : (Headbang) and it will make animate. You should try that. It's fun. xD Ok Bye ; )
