how do you delete unread messages on facebook?

i want to delete messages on facebook without reading them, so the other person knows i haven't read them as there won't be a tick, and remove temptation to read them. not just archive. is it possible? thank you.

I don't think u can... Once u send something u can't get it back but u should just be honest and reply .....

You Can Only Archive Unread Messages To Delete Messages you Have To Open the Message And Than Click on Actions than Delete Conversation to Delete the Message

Click Message icon on the FaceBook bar > Right click on the message > Open link in New Tab > Actions > Mark as unread OR Delete Conversation
