How do you get followers on instagram?

I always follow everyone back and like back their pictures, but I don't know how or where to promote my instagram. My username is s_alexis by the way haha. How do you personally get followers?

Well I don't use Instagram much, I will use it more when I get an iPhone or Andriod I currently have it on my iPod, but post it on your facebook, or twitter if you have them to tell your friends to follow you, if you have a blog put it on there, use more hashtags in your pictures.
Just searched you and some people don't like following users who are private because they can't see your pictures so they don't know what you personally post to see if they like it.

Just check out peoples instagrams. If they have less followers but is followiing the most. They'll defs follow back ((:
