What's the point of facebook anymore?

I find it pointless, very close to deleting my whole fb account. I've deactivated in case I miss my 'friends' in the future. It's just about people bragging about their relationships, their jobs, their studies, photos. DO you use facebook and for what purpose?

I'm from South Africa and the current trend here is Blackberry Messenger (BBM) or Whattsapp

I have, I do, and I still will use Face Book.
I use Face Book to keep up with my kids
and grand kids. Do you find fault with that?
I tell everyone complaining about Face Book
that no ones forces them to use it, so if they
don't like it, then don't use it and just complain
about it.
