Was I rude or offensive with this comment?

So I have this cousin who has never really worked, she's been using drugs and has done jail time and lost her kids because of the drugs. And unlike her I work for a living. She posted on facebook today that she was doing community service, and that getting up at 6 am every day was crazy and was wearing her out. I commented, "Welcome to the world of work!" and all I meant was that it's normal when you have to work. She replied, yeah you should try it, and then unfriended me. Should I have said it differently? Or was she just too sensitive?

Naah, she's just being too sensitive. All you did was tell her the truth of the life we live in, not even nothing to really think of, just a simple statement people seem not to know. I guess she only posted that status only for compliments and "nice comments" she could go fishing with, to have them received towards her. You shouldn't had acted differently. I would probably had said the same thing if I had a friend or someone I know like that.
