Why "follow" someone on Facebook?
What are the advantages of following someone on Facebook? Is there a reason people do it? Why not just see someone on your newsfeed or check their page directly?

It is a lot quicker if you follow them. For example you want to know whenever your best friends posts something onto Facebook, if you have followed them you will get a notification in the "notifications" window. Also if you use a mobile device and have a sound (or vibrate) on when you receive Facebook notifications, then it will "ding" or vibrate if they post anything. In a sense, its an easier way of keeping up with someone or even watching them. It just makes it easier to keep up with Facebook really.

Hope that helped!
