My facebook privacy settings aren't working?

I have my wallposts hidden from certain people on facebook, however the privacy settings aren't working. I've got it on specific people or lists, but the people in the list for seeing it, aren't able to (I check this with my boyfriend on his account) whereas when I then changed the settings to friends bar certain people, the people I put to not see (I did an example of my boyfriend just to check) he could still see my wallposts. This is really annoying, why isn't it working?

I think that if you've got overall privacy settings configured correctly you actually need to assign a specific privacy setting for each new post and review settings for any old posts.

Its Because When you Changed it it Applys For Future Posts but Does Not Apply For Previous Posts you Have to Go Through Each Previous Post And Change the Privacy Settings For it
