How to message a musician on facebook?

This is a weird question. I stumbled upon a new musician that I like. I downloaded her album on itunes and I love listening to it. She's not well known, so she's not like some A-list singer. She's more like one of those people you find on Myspace.

When I went to search her on facebook (so I can 'like' her page if she has one), I saw that she had like a personal Facebook kind of thing where you can add her as a friend and whatnot.

I want to message her and tell her how much I enjoy her music. But is that kind of weird? What should I say?
