Why do people on Facebook want to let everyone know what they are doing?

Sometimes it's to target other people to make them jealous or just inform other people or for fun. But mostly to make them jealous.

They often want to share it with friends and family...or they want to share to show off. Some people use it to vent. They probably don't really think about the people that don't know them. I think it's become part of the "Facebook culture." It's a way to get attention and/or spread information, so that's why people post what they do online.

Telling everyone what your doing is a good way to let those who haven't seen you in a while know that you are still alive and active.It isn't much different then telling someone on the phone what you have been up to recently. For people you don't know very well, it is a good way for them to know you better because they can see what kind of things you are doing these days.
