Is someone else trying to access my Facebook account?

I randomly received an email from Facebook saying 'sorry you've been having trouble logging into your Facebook account'. I haven't been having any trouble logging into mine. Every time I enter my password, I log right in. Does this mean someone else is trying to log into my Facebook?
I've had an email sent from Facebook just like this when I DID have trouble about 6 months ago. The message was just like this so I'd assume it really is Facebook.

Yeah maybe...... Just choose a very secure password..... For example, a password with mixed languages and numbers..... And then u have no worries..... Let people try to hack it....

It's possible, though the nature of that email makes me wonder if it's not actually a phishing attack you're on the edge of falling prey to...
