what is so special about twitter?

why must everyone say "follow me on twitter"? "NOW TRENDING ON TWITTER"? WHO FUCKING CARES! I have a twitter account and i find it pointless... IT DONT MATTER WHAT IS GOING ON! all that matters is my life and facebook!

Twitter is pointless and i don't understand the big deal about it. Who cares about following someone posting about their daily life? what kind of person has such a big ego that they need to tell people everything they do, or have, or want, or need, etc. I mean posting stuff a few times a day is ok but some people abuse it. But thats not what I don't get about the site. What I don't get is there is you have a site in Facebook that you can do all the things twitter does and so much more. So why the heck are people using Twitter and not facebook? some use both I find some people using twitter more... i have no idea why. Twitte ryou can only post 150 characters on a tweet which is annoying. Also the private messages are 150 characters too. Twitter seems more like a "Me" type of site instead of more of a social interaction type of one. Beside son FB you can post pics of yourself in albums and what not and not one single one as a tweet randomly out etc.
