They might feel uncomfortable depending on what kind of disabled you tell them

Perhaps they were attracted to you, thinking you were not a disabled person. But once they found out u are disabled, decided that your disability ruined their vision of you in their minds. Online chatters or potential lovers can be very flighty, picky, and immature sometimes. Also....always keep in mind that many guys who are JUST friends, have it in the back of their mind that they may have a chance if u ever come cry on their shoulder over something in the future. If it's girls who stopped talking to you, perhaps they just want to socialize with people who they can hang out with and go out with. Depending on your disability, perhaps they see your disability as getting in the way and they'd prefer to just not mess with you.

REAL friends are hard to find. If you are going to look for friendship connections online, you need to develop a thicker skin. Most people you will encounter are not great folks you want to be friends with anyway. I agree with you, their loss.
