why do people i don't know try to add me on facebook?

i just went on facebook, i have 9 friend requests, all of them are from random strangers from around the world, i had a friend request from some weird girl named taylor from usa, she posts sexual pictures of men, i dislined her request, why do people do that? and why are they adding me?

They send you friend request just to increase their friends. Or may be they want new friends, or may be they have misidentified you as their friend, in common most them want to increase their friend list.

Some people just do that, so they can have a lot of friends or just to creep at their page. Facebook will block people from sending friend requests for sending to many requests to people they don't know
