why are people posting these status?

on Facebook people are posting a status saying they don't give person to Facebook to use there photos etc. Why r they posting this? is there a new Facebook change or something
better safe than sorry is right. Channel 13 News was just talking about this change in Facebook's privacy policy. Better safe than sorry. It's a pointless statement that people post and has been circulating for over a year. It stems from people mistakenly believing that Facebook will take ownership of content (e.g. photos) that users upload. The assumption that FB will take ownership of your content is completely false. Even if it was true, posting some irrelevant statement does not negate the terms and conditions that were agreed to when registering with FB. The statement only serves to make the people who share it appear to be fools. You should not share it, and kindly inform your FB friends about this meaningless statement to help stop the spread of this nonsense.
