How do I make friends on twitter?

I have a One Direction fan account in twitter, but not a lot of people talk to me :/ i think right now i have 115 followers. everyone I'm following always talks about their twitter besties and everything. I feel left out I want a twitter bestie :0 lol... I really wanna make friends with other directioners but they dont tweet me back very often and they won't carry on a long conversation. Thanks for your suggestions!! Oh and also if there is any way I could turn my small account into a more popular account please let me know!!

Honestly, the best way to make friends is in person. I know exactly how you feel about seeing other people have "best friends" on twitter and other social networking sites. Most of the time these people actually know each other in real life and have met and hung out with each other. Making friends online isn't the best idea because it's just another reason to stay inside and stare at a computer screen all day.

Also, if you want to become a bigger account, start posting your own edits/posts. Use hashtags or something to get it out there. Remember that it'll take time to gain followers. I have shared tumblr account that started with no followers and got to over 1000 in two years. It takes time and effort, so don't expect to become an overnight.
