How can I prevent someone to see that I added someone on Facebook?
I want to be friends on facebook with an old childhood friend but I don't want anyone to notice that I became friends with him.

Hide your friends list, go to your profile => friends => edit privacy => in front of Friends list choose Only me => close.. this way no one can see who your friends are.

I don't think settings would let you prevent others from seeing him.

You Can Hide your Friends List But That Would Hide Everybody Not Just That one Person No Way to Hide Just one Person if you Wish To Do This Go to your Friends List Than Click on the Pencil Than Click Edit Privacy and Than From There you Can Set your Friends List to Private
