how to befriend someone who thinks you are creepy?

well i knew this guy and want to be his friend, and i keep being persistant in trying to strike a conversation with him. that is what my other friends told me to do is keep trying! but my friend just told me he thinks i'm creepy and annoying today. my stupid actions led him to think wrong of me! what do i do? beside the normal let it go i always hear? he's really good friends with my friends and it breaks my social circle down when he's around.. i really hate this. i am bettering myself but can't get him to see. how do i get my friends to convince him otherwise? or how do i go about setting it right myself?
