I want to stop using facebook without deleting it any pointers?

I want to stop wanting to go on facebook all the time, it just makes me depressed and annoyed but I don't want to delete it because it's so useful for contacting friends from different countries, any pointers on how I can break my facebook addiction!

Use Tumblr or Twitter, they have easy report things if you are being abused etc. If you are depressed buy them too, go out, do a sport or activity you love, distract your brain. Every time you get an urge to go on it said to yourself "It's not worth it, I am better than this!"
