Unable to socialize with university classmates.?

I am a 22 year old anti social guy, I dont talk to people at all and only interact with people I trust such as my parents, girlfriend and family members. I am very much into media, journalism and gaming, My hobbies include listening to music, watching movies, sports, playing my guitars and going out for a drive in my cars. I have never been able to communicate with anyone at all as I have had a destructive and disturbed childhood, fear was my greatest enemy but I have managed to conquer that independently.
The main problem is that in my university today, I was congratulating a friend of a job well done, and there's this other guy who loves to crack jokes and possesses a sarcastic and humorous attitude, so he looked to me and said 'Why dont you go take his autograph', then I really felt weird and uncomfortable, but I ignored his remark and went on with my routine of chilling out by myself without friends, and even if I do try to communicate, I feel awkward about it because I dont feel that it's right, there's just something in me that forces me not to talk to anyone due to the lack of trust and friendly manner, it starts to get the best of me sometimes, but most of the time I am perfectly in control of my emotions.
