"People you may know" on Facebook, Please Help!!?
My boyfriend and I have had some issues in the past. We are now engaged to be married, before I take this huge step, I guess I want to be absolutely certain of what I am getting myself into. I have had trust issues because of the past and I have seen a few red flags here, but nothing concrete.

In any event, he left his facebook page open one night and it was on his "find friends" section, when I scrolled down to the "people you may know" the first 6 were half naked girls, single, interested in men and women and 1 was even a porn star. The odd thing is 5 of the pages only had 1 picture and like 15 friends, the 6th had 170 friends and a bunch of pictures. Also, none of these girls had mutual friends with my fiance at all nor are they from the same area.

My question is how does "People you may know" work? Why would the people you may know be all these scantily clad/porn star type girls? Where does the information get pulled from? I checked my "people you may know" and everyone in my list was people that I had several mutual friends with.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I don't think it has anything to do with him, i went to my friends you may know once and there were people who had no mutual friends on there.

It might be from the things he has searched. Or maybe people who have the same last name as other friends. If I were you I would talk to him about it and ask where ot came from. I hope everything goes good and congratulations on the engagement (:

That's actually pretty weird. From my experience "people you may know" like you said are people who have mutual friends and what not. But sometimes I do get some that have any friends in common but they're not even close to being half naked women or porn stars. Try looking under pages he's liked? Maybe there's a link but if not then I'm not sure what to tell you. I'd be annoyed of that too.

The people you may know section;
It can be people who live near you,
people that you have mutual friends with,
people who have mutual friends with his mutual friends (say if one of his friends, friends, has them as a friend),
or if he has friends who are similar to them.
You should have looked through his friends! To see if he has friends like that in his friends list. Even a similar name of one of his friends may trigger it.

Chill out. Smile

I also get some random people when browsing through "People you may know".

They could not only be people he has mutual friends with; they could be friends of friends, or even someone that has been viewed by his friends.

These things can be a a little random sometimes.

First of all, congratulations on your engagement Smile Regarding your concerns, Facebook seems to change things every week from what I can see... so I don't know if you can know anything definitively on that site. Maybe a better avenue to follow is... if he's going to marry you, have you thought about asking him if he's willing to give you his password? Honestly, I know many couples who do this. You should never have anything to hide from your spouse, and if you're worried at this stage, see how he reacts to giving you 24/7 access to his acct. You can offer the same to him. His reaction to your request alone may reveal a something about his character and whether you can trust him enough to be his life partner. Best of luck, and blessings to you!
