Deleting friends on facebook?

Of course we all face that person that deletes us. I usually don't even take notice until I go to write something to that person or see their pics. But recently an old friend of mine who deleted me just re added me. He sent me a pm saying hi and all that. I confronted him about deleting me and asked why he did it, and he said it probably deleted itself. I think it's a bull face lie. I don't see how that would happen. But before I go arguing, is there a bug on facebook that does that?

If you argue with him, he'll just delete you again. Maybe it was an honest mistake.

Facebook does not delete people itself unless a complaint or red flag has been identified. If you didn't delete the person yourself its likely the person deleted you
