How do I disable notifications of people commenting after me?

I'm really getting tired of getting a notification for someone else commenting on our common friend's status. Also I keep getting notifications from a group. I don't want to leave the group because I do like to check it out. But I don't need to be notified every time someone else posts.

Does anyone know how to stop this?

Where the "comment, like and share" buttons are there should be a thing that says unfollow post and it should stop sending you notifications.
