Why are majority of teenagers lacking in basic grammar?
I see it on social media, like Facebook, and much on Yahoo Answers. They spell most of what they write wrong, and forget to use punctuation. They go to school though, because half the questions mention someone or something related to highschool. Are they really grammatically impaired, or are they just to lazy to type properly on their computer? I may not have the most mature voacabulary as a teenager myself, but at least I make an effort. Teenagers, why do you not type properly?

It's generally because they don't give a shit? Teachers usually try their best I know it. But kids only get dumber and dumber. I'm glad I've been raised well. |

They are lazy and unaware of how stupid they look.

I'm 19 and it makes me cringe when a friend texts me and misspells words. There just lazy if you ask me.

It is not just the teens, but many adults have very poor grammar as well. You should see how poorly some adults, including some highly educated professionals, write or can't write. Engineers are some of the worse offenders. I know. I used to work with a lot of engineers. As for your question, I believe it might be the combination of effort, too much texting and poor education.

I really do now know why. I am a teenager, and I find the lack of proper grammar around me ridiculous. People have no idea how damn stupid they come across as. It's truly a disgrace that a predominately English-speaking country has so many citizens that are so terrible at English.
