Someone explain Facebooks privacy issue to me?

I have no idea what all the fuss is about.
I quit Facebook for studying purposes a week ago, but I dont know whats up with all the privacy issues. Who can see what? All I have seen is friends commenting on status updates of people I dont know posted on the main wall. I dont care if people I dont know can read my status updates. Its so mundane to care about that. Aside from that, whats all the fuss about? Thanks for informing me =D

"I dont care if people I dont know can read my status updates." - actually, people can find out a lot about you by what they can see posted on Facebook - for instance: someone may inadvertently post something which would give away what school you go to (which also would identify the general area you live)

you younger people need to keep in mind that it's not called the "World Wide Web" for nothing - think about it

i dont think its a privacy issue you have the control to hide everything your friends your wall posts your activitie everything

ther was some application which allow u to see your friends chat logs and pending friend requests. however its gone now. facebook deleted the application.
