Why do I get Facebook 'friend requests' from strangers?
I have really two questions, both regarding Facebook's privacy.
a) I think I have ticked all the right privacy boxes, yet Google search continues to bring up my name on Facebook links. Can I stop that?
b) My privacy settings on SEARCH are set to 'only friends', yet I get 'friend requests' all the time from people with whom I have no mutual friends neither know. Why and what can I do?
Many thanks for your help.

it happens to me too.
i think all people can see what you write on group walls
just ignore the requests and mark you dont know them.
if i get 3 from the same person i block them

As far as i know, when you sign up to facebook you're putting your name 'out there'. & your name will still come up in searches, however, your privacy settings control how much of your profile strangers can see (which isn't a lot if you've set it to friends only). If you don't want your name public delete yourself from facebook.

a) yes you probly have but check to see if ya havent missed on

b)well you will any1 can send ya a request but only friends and friends of friends CAN see ya profile
by the way ppl add strangers or randomers i say coz they want more friends for iver the facebook games or they just want 2 meet new ppl
if it was like a 40yr old and ya a teenager then id say that dont seem right
but in the same ppl just add random/strangers becuase they want more friends they see it as a game 2 see who can get the most friends

You can change the privacy settings so that only friends of friends can add you

Account>privacy settings>contact info>who can add me as a friend

It also takes a while for google to reindex their search results so if you changed it recently then its going to take a bit to take affect
