How do I hide my Facebook account completely?

I don't want anyone to be able to find my Facebook account by doing a search for me, except friends of friends. How can I do this? A couple of years ago I knew someone who had accomplished this but I can't seem to find any way to do it in my privacy settings. It seems strange that Facebook would disable this privacy feature, so I think there must be a way. Please... no responses like "why would you want to do that?" I have my reasons.

Account ---> Privacy settings ---> Applications and Websites (At the left side at the bottom) ---> Edit your settings ---> Public search --->Edit settings ---> Leave the box "Unchecked"

Account ---> Privacy settings ---> Basic Directory Information ---> View settings ---> Search for me on Facebook ---> Friends of friends---> Click the Preview My Profile button
