Please help with Timeline on Facebook?

Looks like I have to have Timeline now. My Facebook page says I have until August 18th. It says I can hide what I don't want seen but how do I do that? Any other advice before I publish it.

The date only means that Facebook is giving you a few days to try out the Timeline before you actually get it. It's up to you if you wanna publish it now. But on the 18th, whether you like it or not, your account will have Timeline.

Choose a nice Timeline cover. Take the "tour" of timeline to know what I'm talking about. It helps make your Timeline look really cool.

You can hide stuff by controlling the privacy of posts, photos, or account info. Refer to the "tour" and Help page to learn more.

Timeline can just be overwhelming because it has lots of features, but you'll get to enjoy it once you get used to it. Yes, it has some features that you may not really like such as ticker, which shows your activity in real-time, but in the long run you'll find that it's really not that bad.
