School's access to our Facebook accounts?
I'm aware of Schools being able to go through privacy settings on our Facebook accounts to look at what we are doing using computer software, and this is a complete invasion of our rights that Facebook themselves claim to give us. They only way this would be legitimate is if Facebook said in their Terms and Conditions that employers and schools could view our information without being Facebook friends. Is there a way of blocking this kind of behaviour?

You're misinformed.
When you use the Internet at school, all data that is sent and received goes through the school's router. It is trivial for them to intercept that data and look at what is being sent or received, which includes sensitive data like passwords. Additionally, a school computer might have a monitoring program installed on it. These things are justifiable, because the school should have control over its own property, right? Employers and schools can't just see your Facebook information if your privacy settings don't allow it. Where did you get that idea? Ads |
