Facebook timeline, publish?

I'm not a big Facebook user, but I log in and see that my info/wall stuff has turn into this timeline thing. It says:

"Ready to publish your Timeline?
Remember: Your timeline goes live on 16 April. This gives you a chance to review what's here, highlight or hide whatever you want and even add new social apps."

Is this mandatory?
And if it is mandatory, how do I revert it back to the "old" one before it gets published?

Yes, Facebook is automatically converting all profiles to timelines on April 16.

yes it is Mandatory Facebook is Slowly Working on Getting everybody over to the Timeline It is a Mandatory update there is no Going back to the Old Profile it will be gone soon
