Facebook won't let me get timeline?

So i made a new profile on facebook on new years. My friend told me about the new feature on facebook called "timeline". So my friend shows me what to do and facebook wont allow me to get it. i have no clue if its because i'm new, but i want to know why for sure and how long i have to wait. Please and thank you.

Facebook is gradually updating peoples profiles one at a time so getting a new profile does not mean that the timeline will automatically be there. I don't know how long it will take to get it but some of my friends still haven't got it.

But, trust me you may live to regret it! I think that the timeline is Facebook's WORST update ever, stuff is hard to find, everything is jumbled up, that stupid picture at the top etc. etc.

As you will see in that article, many users reported that they still don't have the green button that they have to click in order to upgrade. Some of them tried different browsers and computers but the button still wasn't there. As members from the same family using the same computer had different results, this can only mean that the upgrade is not yet available for some users.

Since for some users the button appeared after waiting some days, what I recommend to the ones that still can't upgrade is to try once a day until the button appears.
