Facebook- Timeline friends box meaning?? Please help?

I have heard different things about what determines who pops up in your timelines friends box (some say its completely random, to people you interact with the most, to people who view your profile the most, to people whose profile you've viewed the most) does anyone know for sure?
I am very curious because there are like 4 people whose faces are constantly there, usually close friends/family and then random ones, one of those four is a person I admit I have a huge crush on but since this person is taken, I try to not even visit his profile however recently his picture is not only on the big friend box (as usual which has me curious enough haha) but sometimes also on the top smaller friend box on timeline at the same time, which is freaking me out because that means I see his face twice on my timeline and its never done that with anyone else! (this has happened more than once ) we've never had a conversation on facebook just maybe random likes once in a blue moon ..Any thoughts?? Is Facebook secretly psychic?? lol
