Is the facebook timeline optional?
Hi
I would like to know if the facebook timeline is optional or if it's required for all facebook users?
Is there a way to block the timeline in the settings?
I personally don't want others seeing my every action on facebook since I first got an account.
Some help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Yes,
The timeline is optional.
You don't have to get it.

But your other questions,
I think you can go to the Facebook Help Center for those.

Although for the moment Facebook did not make a clear statement in any of its official pages about how the upgrade would be deployed, and as a consequence there is a lot of false information going around, experienced users know that Facebook upgrades of this size have never been optional.

Besides, there are clear evidences that indicate that there will be no way to go back to the old Profile. Take a look at the article in the source to see what those evidences are.

Soon everyone will get the new Facebook Timeline.
There's only one true method to delete the timeline for good:

But if you want to stick with Facebook, I made an easy to follow guide on how to use the new Facebook Timeline wisely and securely:
