Why am I forced to use Facebook timeline?
Last couple of weeks I have been simply forced by facebook to use timeline. I personally don’t like it and ended up deactivating my account and reopening another one. Timeline is being forced again with my new account too. It really pissed me off and I started to wonder why it is forced on users? Why not make it optional? I did some search/reading about it and here is my conclusion. Of course that’s me and you should do your own thinking about it but I decided to share it anyway.

With the old style, a facebook post more than a month-old would be relegated to the bottom of your page and most of the time it was enormously hard and time consuming to find, if not impossible. With the new timeline your entire facebook activities is accessible to whomever with access by a simple click in a chronological order.

If I would be interested learning about someone’s interactions and activities at a particular time, and would have access to his/her account, timeline would be priceless to get that information in a click. Efficient! Keep in mind; information is money. With the old style, I would need the help of facebook people to get the information probably. With the timeline, I just need the access.

Why does one care though? I put a couple of pictures from time to time to share some frames of my life with friends and family members who are far away and keep in touch with some old friends. Do I need to worry about all this? Not really. But it is rather where you stand socially, philosophically/politically in life or where do you stand on privacy issues, usage of other people as herd etc. One doesn’t need to be in a death row to be against death penalty.

I was mad about it, too, but the facebook police haven't caught me yet. I still have the old layout!

Yeah, mine was finally switched about a week ago. One of my friends has his changed in a couple of days. I hear that the layout creates more space for ads.

Go to the arrow that you go to when you are about to log off Facebook. -Click on Help -Click On report a problem -Click On send feed back -Click on Negative -Click On "Please Select" -A List will appear. -Click On timeline(Profile) -Click On "I'd Like to turn Timeline Off" -In the Box where it says "Additional Details" type in "I highly dislike Timeline" -Click "Send" Re-post and like this comment so everyone can see! It might work or not.
