How come I still don't have the Timeline on Facebook? Why do people keep saying everyone will be forced if not?

I'm really glad i don't have the Timeline yet on my Facebook page, because from what i heard and seen it's soo annoying. Some my "unfortunate" friends pages have it and I don't even want to look at it. Many have complained about it too. I just post them a msg or post, but don't bother looking around their site if they have the timeline because it's so damn annoying to use.

However, what's strange is that some of my friends don't have it yet too....
So i was just wondering why do some people have it and others don't? Like does it depend when u signed up for Facebook or something??

And when will everyone be converted to the Timeline for sure?? Like plz don't say now or make up an answer! People were saying everyone would be converted in February or March but that never happened....
@Mia: Thanks for the heads up! I noticed too after asking this question that some poeple got it by accepting apps but it's like a trick. They really should give us the choice! Orat least warn us beforehand. Anyways facebook sucks lately and this timeline is just making it more worse. Thanks for letting me know, I won't click any ads or apps or anything that will make me havea timeline!!

Everyone told me you had to get it but by the date came that said all Facebook users will have timeline I still didn't have it. But later on when I went to log onto Facebook there was an advertisement for timeline and I clicked on that and that's how I got it. Not sure if some people's pages just appeared with timeline on it.

there is no date to give you because people are converted on different days based on how old your account is
