Facebook asked to "increase your privacy level"?
So the person in question added their mobile number. Her security settings are all private.

She began receiving calls from a random number, and them discovered that Facebook had put her number on her profile without asking. Does anyone know why this has happened? I'm having difficulty finding this online.

She accesses from a computer, not a mobile, so it's not going to be the smartphone issue. Thanks all.
I'm not asking how to increase the security levels. They are as high as they can go. She didn't add it to her profile, she gave the information to Facebook with the understanding that it would be used to increase security, not put on her profile.

I don't want to know how to delete it, that's already been done. I want to know why it happened in the first place.

Launched in 2004, Facebook is an online social network with more than 750 million active users. As a Facebook user, you can control how much information to display on your personal profile. Use Facebook’s “Privacy Settings” to select the level of privacy. To maximize the privacy levels, use the “Custom” option to limit viewing. Your profile’s contact information should not reveal your phone number and address, especially if you have children.

Difficulty:Moderately EasyInstructions

1
Log in to your personal Facebook profile.

2
Click the white arrow next to the Home menu on the header. A list of options appears.

3
Click “Privacy Settings.” The Privacy Settings Web page appears.

4
Click the radio button for “Custom” in the Control Your Default Privacy section. The
Custom Privacy dialog box opens. Select “Specific People or Lists” or “Only Me” to limit access to your profile. Click “Save Settings.”

5
Click the “Edit Settings” link in the How You Connect section. The How You Connect dialog box opens.

6
Click to select the level of privacy for each category. For example, the category “Who can look up your profile by name or contact info?” includes the “Custom” option. The Custom Privacy dialog box includes limits such as “Specific People or Lists” and “Only Me.” Select your preferred option. Click “Save Changes.”

7
Continue selecting the privacy levels in the How You Connect dialog box. For example, select “Only Me” for the category “Who can see Wall posts by others on your profile?” to prevent anyone else from viewing your wall.

8
Click “Done.” The dialog box closes.

9
Click the "Edit Settings" link next to How Tags Work to open its dialog box. Set this section's Profile Review and Tag Review sections to "On." Turn off the feature that allows friends to check you into locations. For the Tags section's Maximum Profile Visibility category, click the "Custom" option and select the "Only Me" option from the Custom Privacy dialog box. Click "Save Changes."

10
Open the "Apps and Websites" section, turn off all platform apps and clear the check box for "Enable Public Search." Save these changes.

11
Click "Manage Past Post Visibility" in the Limit the Audience for Past Posts section. Click the "Limit Old Posts" button and follow the prompts to restrict the audience of your old Facebook posts.

12
Click your profile name on the header to bring up your personal profile. Click the “Edit Profile” button near the header. The Basic Information page displays. Erase the “Current Location” and “Hometown” text boxes. Click the “Don’t show my birthday in my profile” option in the Birthday section. Hiding your birthday from your profile may deter identity theft. Click the “Contact Information” link in the side panel. Delete all information from this form. Click “Save Changes.”
