Post links on Facebook, Youtube, and other social media sites, and DEFINITELY follow others so they'll follow you back. :-)

Search the following tags Followforfollow, Followback, alwaysfollowback, F4F etc (you get the drift...)

Follow these people and the majority should repay the favor.

search for hashtagged tweets about things you genuinely like, and that you tweet about yourself, follow these people and if they like your content they will likely follow you back, and even begin to retweet your stuff too as they are interested. Resulting in more people seeing you tweets. The beautiful cycle.

Even adding hashtags such as followback may get more followers, although it can become an annoying habbit to genuine followers of yours.
