In what way can the social networks of today, such as Facebook and Twitter, be deployed to help in an organisations marketing strategy?

People like to gossip. They like to get together in groups and gabble away like happy geese about anything and everything. That is what social networks are in a nutshell.

Even by talking about a mysterious rumour - somebody is gonna be nosey enough to go looking for this great bargain.

Properly manipulated, social networks are a good forum to make a lot of IT-literate people (in a given age range) aware of your product or service.
