How Would You Market This Band?

Ok, I have a project I'm working on for class right now and need some help with ideas on how to market this band on practically no budget. This could be anything from a cool video idea like the 80s video done for the Phoenix song 'Lisztomania', or a good clothing or product brand the band should be affiliated with (i.e. Roots, Levi's, etc.), a good viral video idea, etc. Here's the link - any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. How about making flyers and having really pretty girls seducing males off the street about the promos and actually talk to them about how interesting this band is, being kind or what not, that the band has or better yet do they have a demo or anything? Maybe if those pretty chicks spread out the name of the music they will get known fast, its about social skills and creating a fan base.

Myspace and domain names and facebook is a good way to promote music and if you're kind and have good morals, other people will treat you with respect as well.

Remember morals and ethics is how others judge others through character!

when you're on facebook or myspace you should take the time and talk to your fans who appreciate your music, if you appreciate your fans and they will tell other people about your music and it will spread like a virus.

A good virus.

Negativity will draw people out and dislike your music as well as the band members in the band!

Example: The problem with bands today is the egos that become inflated in local bands and when they have achieved so much in life it makes them on a different level where they think they're above other people, have to act a certain way because of the morals that they were brought up etc..

Did you know what happen to that band while they were touring with big known bands? Well, no one was buying their merchandise, wasn't making any money with cds bc of the attitude that they promote to people and the way they were treating others who were humble like dirt.

Anyways, the cost of money wasn't getting anywhere and people weren't knowing them or marketing the band because of burning bridges with other people and feeling no remorse for treating others like dirt.

They broke up, are bums now. No one likes their music, or buying merchandise because they were assholes to people.

So, yeah........... the first step with starting a band is creating a band and being creative with making music, then comes introducing people to your music by going into venues and traveling etc.. and doing opening act for famous bands.

Then comes the fan base, making merchandise!

Being modest and being kind to people who are putting the time and effort to "pay" and come to the show should be treated with the most respect because without fans you wouldn't be known and people wouldn't be buying your merchandise.


Follow my advice and you should be doing fine but it takes steps and divine timing to come through, trusting in god.
