My math teacher is an asshole?
So basically my math teacher hates me for no apparent reason. I am in 10th grade and he is just out of control. I would consider myself to be a good student and i am not disruptive during class. He seems to always victimize me for no reason, for example i will be sitting in the classroom during one of his lessons and out of nowhere he will insult me in some way. He always calls on me for the hard questions and yells at me when I get it wrong but when he asks another student in my class he doesn't even care he just tells them to "get it right next time". Even If I get the answer right he will just find some minor flaw in my answer like that i didn't put the word "inches" next to my answer or something like that and go overboard with it and lecture about it for over 10 minutes. I get good grades in his class and i don't know why he hates me. Can anyone think of why he would hate me and how I can deal with it?

Your teacher could have been in some kind of situation, involving you in some way, where he went angry for the rest of the day. Otherwise I have no idea as well.

The way I see it, there are three explanations:
1) Your teacher has a serious personal vendetta against you 2) You're doing something he doesn't like without realising it 3) He knows you can get a really good grade and is pushing you to get it I'm afraid the solution is the same in all three scenarios - work hard, so you do know the answers. |

Has this behavior been going on since day one or after some incident? Do your parents intervene at school. Do you talk about him on facebook in a negative way. All teachers view their students facebook pages. Have you tweeted something you shouldn't have?
There could be all kinds of reasons. If you have clear conscience ask for a parent teacher conference to clear the air. If that doesn't help ask to change your class schedule. |

This board is littered with messages from students who swear that a teacher is picking on them for "no reason". That's highly unlikely. It doesn't matter what you consider yourself. Ask your teacher what you need to do to meet his expectations.
