Well, the key to good social media is creating something that people want to share, and the thing that people like to share the most is information about themselves.

Some companies use Facebook games to do this, but depending on you budget this could be very difficult. You might consider some type of contest... like maybe they get to use the car for week or something. Or, you will drive to them so that they can take it for a test drive.

Think of some great incentive that you could build into a social media campaign and use sites like Facebook to get an audience. Again, you want to make sure that you develop something that people will want to share.

Do some social media marketing. Use Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube for that one. there are some online services for that social media marketing, but since you are just hired to do that manually. just promote it on social media sites.

If you're wanting to see how social media advertising is done, then look no further than Orabrush. They use YouTube and Facebook to catapult from nothing to product placement in multiple foreign countries and Walmart in about a year. I've been watching them, and they are the company to imitate if you want to harness social media for yourself.

As for more traditional modes of advertising, I have more experience in that area. Without being sure of all your details of the project (are you trying to promote brand awareness? connect to former clients? gather new clients?), here are some suggestions.

If you're at a tradeshow, then some good giveaways to promote your car are: imprinted bags with your logo (as people collect trade show gear, they advertise your car....and after the trade show is over, they still advertise for you everywhere they carry the bag), or a special coupon (which could be a car stress ball or jelly phone mat (goes on the dash and keeps phones and i-pods from falling)) that if they bring to the office where you sell cars then they get a special prize or $100 off the car price or something--the purpose of this kind of giveaway is to connect trade show customers to your store.

Giveaways work well on Facebook as a way of collecting potential customer email addresses (if they message you their email address then they get entered into a drawing of...a travel emergency kit or a mini luggage scale). Or instead of gathering email addresses, you request that they invite three friends to your Facebook page and in return they get a free key chain LED light or key chain chapstick AND get entered into a drawing for a bigger prize--this gathers actual mailing addresses and spreads the word of your product person-to-person.

Hope these ideas help
