Samsung galaxy phone data usage question?

HI OK I AM FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW.

I just got a phone a few weeks ago that's a Samsung galaxy s3 mini and I started using apps like facebook, candy crush, and internet. Today I pressed data usage to see what it was and I freaked out because it said that I had used 200KB of data. I only use facebook when it's connected to wifi and when im outside and I try to use facebook it will say network error and not upload. I wont get notifications and I cant search online. so basically I don't use data right?

It even says there is some data for messageign (texting) and candy crush. But you don't need data for those things??? I pressed it to see why and it says 'backround data' was used. Still how on earth do you use data for texting and candy crush?

WHY DOES IT SAY IN DATA USAGE THAT I HAVE USED DATA

Please help and don't troll please. I just got this phone and I'm really scared my parents are going to kill me for using data accidentally. Thanks in advance!

Sweetie KB are nothing its the MB you worry about. you havent even used a MB yet. dont worry. KB are Less then MB it goes KB MB GB

------- MMS (pic texting) uses little data. Carriers use APN servers for texts and data. SMS (normal text) can only support 160 bytes (characters) or 0.160 KB. So when you attach a 3MB pic to a SMS to make a MMS, it cant go through the text APN. Its over 160B!!! So what do carriers do? They break up the MMS into 2 parts, the SMS and the pic. SMS goes through text apn and pic goes through data apn... float in cyberspace and around the earth.. friend gets it... gets put back together by their carrier.. bam.. they get your MMS.. all that in 2 seconds.... MMS data wont count.. Carriers no know that. Data trackers apps dont know that. That is why you see that.. As for Candy Crush and other games, you are comminicating with facebook and Candy Crush servers to request free lives and tickets and crap. So, those thing dont just magically appear. LMAO.. you are using internet.. Ergo, you use data... That is why Candy Crack is popping up.

----- Ok... calm down... 1st--- you have a smartphone, WHICH MEANS mom and dad was FORCED by policy to get you a data plan of some kind... smallest i know of is 15MB plan, or 15000KB (simple math conversation is 1MB = 1000KB)... it says you used 200KB... or 0.2MB... so, worse case senario--mom and data got you the 15MB data plan to save on $$$ every month... you are still ok... 15MB - .2 = 14.8MB left until the next monrthly bill cycle begins (every 30 days you get 15MB, if this is your plan). No worries, ok dear.... calm down... breathe... continue what you are doing.. use WIFI.. its free unlimited... only use cellular data when its absolutely nessessary.....

also, I use this... I use "My Data Tracker".... its the best tracker and smarter than most carrier trackers.... I knows what counts as cellular data and wifi data... what apps used data, when... how... why.. etc etc etc.. its a free app on playstore... you can even insert your bill cycle plan into the settings so it will accurately show you what you need to know. It can also be a widget.
