I was just watching How I Met Your Mother, and Marshall and Lily were creating a will. Now, I know that creating a will isn't something you do for fun, like a Facebook profile. But I was just thinking about how anyone can die, at any moment. I'm young, but that doesn't leave me any less vulnerable to death. I'm fourteen.

I don't think me being a minor allows me to create my own LEGAL Will, so What if I wrote it in my diary, or in a special place? I know that being a minor, all of my possessions would go to my parents, but I still want to make sure that my things go exactly where I want them, and not to people they think should have them or into storage or something.

So yeah, Just asking.

No

Secret wills aren't valid. It needs to be notarized with witnesses. You can find the simple form on line.

Also keep in mind once you designate who gets your stuff, they're allowed to give it away however they want.

You're a minor, your stuff is their stuff.
