When did ppl start believing govt was more efficient than the private sector & more capable of making?

When I saw the govt budget and national debt triple after Reagan deregulated and privatized most government functions.

Enron, WorldCom, AIG, Hostess, Airlines,Banks, Investment companies, cable companies.

Did I leave anyone out? Frankly none of them have done such a great job at efficiency, and we have a case in court right now where a private company wants its employees not to have available insurance for birth control because it goes against the owners religion. Can you get anymore invasive than that? You can't just let business do whatever it wants either.

All laws will make some decisions for individuals. In fact that's why we have them, don't like it, go live in a bayou. or a mountaintop.

Compared to the endless bankruptcies and hate engendered by business, the reality of government programs working is a whole lot better, Medicare for instance should have served as a pattern for insurance for the country, but no, we got some half baked complicated deal that stil gives private insurance companies their profits.

When they stopped doing objective research and learning from history
the government is the least efficient.... least effective..... and least economical of any problem solving agency

Instead of controlling big business, government
interferes in the free market and enables big business to abuse the people even more..... "too big to fail" is faulty reasoning .....bail-outs reward bad business practices and institutionalizes these practices.... no failure pain means we can do it again..... subsidies corrupt the free market and make bad business , graft and corruption rampant
Many of the people posting here only see the immediate results not the inevitable consequence ......

TEHABWA..... ARE YOU SERIOUS.... Social Security is going broke from mismanagement.... the US Treasury owe the SS fund 2.7 TRILLION DOLLARS......AMTRAK is 9 billion in debt....the post office is 9 billion dollars in debt and selling 600 buildings and cutting services to lessen the loss..... the list of their failures is endless.....

Social Security will FAIL in 2033 (if not sooner )
