how do I make a avatar on here?

I've seen the link that people are supposed to click but it just takes me to my profile page. How do I create then upload a yahoo avatar? Please help.
I have an account with yahoo. It's just that I got to MY ACTIVITY above the green bar, then I go to update photo next to the blank picture and what's normally between the arrows isn't there it just gives me the option to "add photo" but when I click that it takes me to my profile... so i'm confused is there a link I can click or something?

Just go to change icon, and it will take you to a yahoo account , then click create yahoo account if you dont have one, and click on the blank icon. Click on the blank icon when you go to the link, and it will say upload.

You have to go to another avatar making web page first, because yahoo has NOT supported their own avatar making pages for 2 months.

STOP trying to update your avatar through your YA activity profile. That probably does NOT work anymore.

You have to upload an image to YOUR hard drive from ANOTHER web page, including web pages where you can MAKE an avatar, BEFORE, Update photo hyperlink will work, and if The Yahoo server computers do not recognize your image file as being in the correct format, that's why you have to do everything twice. MY "Update photo" hyperlink in MY YA activity profile works.

To UPLOAD an image to YOUR hard drive, display the Image. RIGHT click on the image. Select "Save Image as" from the drop down menu. give the image a file name, AND pay attention to which folder on your hard drive you are saving this image too, Yes you can create folders inside of your "My Pictures" folder. Make SURE you save the image as either a .JPG or .GIF file.

Yahoo no longer supports the creation of their cartoon avatars, sorry.

But you can use a photo avatar or a cartoon avatar from another site, and if you have a Facebook or Twitter account, you can also use those avatars.

Go to: http://profile.yahoo.com/y/settings/privacy/ - make sure your profile isn't hidden, because if it is, your avatar won't show.

In case you want to use a Facebook or Twitter avatar, you need to link those accounts in the Profile options.

You have several options in case you want a photo avatar:
a) go to your Yahoo! Answers settings at http://answers.yahoo.com/my-activity > click edit my preferences near your current pic > click "Update photo or avatar",
b) go to your Yahoo! Profile at http://profile.yahoo.com/ , click on the current avatar.
Now upload a picture or choose one of the pics you've uploaded previously.

Note: if you are on a mobile, you need to switch to desktop mode first in order for this to work.
