If Hitler lied about being socialist, how can we believe Norway and Sweden when they say they are socialist?

How do we know if they're just pretending like Hitler did?

Great NLP. If they are socialist they are not lying. That would be ridiculous. It would be more likely that they were socialist and then lied and said they were capitalist. Capitalists never want to hide that they are capitalist. They want to advertise it because then merchants and business people all over the world will want to do business with them which will make their nation rich and strong. However, socialists want to hide their socialism because they know that no one will do business with them because without a free market there is no money to be made, or no reason to invest in that nation.

The pretending comes from neo-Marxists and softer socialists trying to divorce the Nazis from their socialist club. Actually I would call the European fascists of the early 20th century the most radical form of progressive theory. They were only one step away from true socialism.

Tribal Germanic people initiated European socialism according to Karl Marx. Scandinavians have been communal people since Viking days. Most of the world is family oriented not community oriented like Germans (including the Scandinavians as "Germanic" people).

Hitler was a socialist like his mentor Mussolini. Mussolini's fascisti developed a form of national socialism with "corporatist" bureaucratic control of industries. Single bureaus controlled entire industries under a dictator.

Their forms of national socialism allowed private ownership of companies but any that didn't fully cooperate with government could be and I understand were nationalized.

Imperial Japanese adopted nationalism only after their Shogun ruled clans were unified under an emperor. They are now a community oriented people previously very family (clan) oriented.

Below are accurate definitions. Today in the US most progressives and some socialists fraudulently call themselves "liberal."

True liberalism advocates: individual freedom, weak government, and free markets. Progressives advocate: social concern, omniscient government, and controlled markets. Socialism advocates: social responsibility, omnipresent government, and collective markets. Conservatism advocates: moral responsibility, strong government, and protected markets ("neo-cons" with international businesses have adopted freer market policies).

You are confused. Nazi is short for National Socialist, so Hitler admitted to being Socialist
