Has this happened to someone else?

I have a pen pal who lives in another continent and we met around 2 years ago. We never really talked a lot but she was really nice, sending me hearts, lovely messages and all these things that made me like her soooooo much. I'm not the kind of guy who sends a lot of messages and ends being bored.
Turns out that in these last months I send her messages and she doesn't even reply me. She only does it when I ask something clearly with a question mark but always comes with a beautiful message. I feel she doesn't like to talk to me. She even lied about her facebook account and is no longer my friend in her new one.
But it was her who sent me the first message. She sends me Christmas cards too, she's attentive.
Has anyone experienced it? DO you know what could be happening? If so, what should I do? Because I really like her.
