How to on FB timeline?

Is there a way to keep my relationship status in public but keep the date as to when it was changed on my wall be in private? I'm trying to figure out how I could hide the date when I was married from public users on my wall (when scrolling down upon searching my account) but still allow them to see that my status is married (above). I did set it up both differently one on my profile as public and on my activity log for my wall as for friends/contacts only. However it still shows up. Is there a way around this or do I just need to hide the wall post entirely? I really don't want to resort to hiding it with all the comments and all.

Find that post on your timeline, click the "edit/remove" and click hide from timeline.
