Why can't I see my boyfriends relationship status on facebook?

I noticed on my boyfriend's facebook page that it doesn't say 'in a relationship' with me on his main page even though I accepted his request about a year ago.

I clicked the about section and looked through this and there is no relationship status in there at all but it shows family, friends, places he's been etc.

I looked on my iphone app as well as the website in safari on my phone.

I asked him about it and he sent a screenshot of his profile where it says he's in a relationship with me on the main page but it isn't there when I look?

Is there a reason this may not be showing up for me or has he hidden it and he can only see it cos it's his profile?

Because he has his privacy settings configured to hide that piece of information from other users.
